My clinical background includes working for the South African Department of Health in community clinics. I built experience in the NHS as a home enteral feeding (tube feeding) dietitian and in general dietetics clinics. I have been teaching and researching in nutrition and dietetics since 2018. My qualifications include a BSc Dietetics and PG Dip Dietetics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, which led to my registration as a dietitian, followed by an MSc in dietetics from Nelson Mandela University, which was by dissertation and focused on identifying malnutrition among young children. I completed a PG Cert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education as part of my career in training student dietitians, and completed my PhD in 2022, which expanded on my previous work and included a focus on the causes of malnutrition in women and children. I wrote a textbook which was published in 2023 and won the British Dietetics Association’s Elizabeth Washington Award.

Your health is one of your greatest resources- the number on a scale means less than the ability to spend time with family, work and play hard and enjoy life. My aim is to help you to tap into your health as a resource for all the things you enjoy, whatever your starting point.
